CHAPLAINS
Professional and volunteer chaplains provide spiritual care in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, schools, and the military. Our chaplains and counselors are available for visitation, informal counseling, and support as well as bioethics consultation regarding end-of-life issues.
PASTORAL COUNSELING
Pastoral counselors provide guidance based on the belief that when one learns how to explore their soul and spirit, they can truly start to heal and grow in a holistic way. This can be helpful to those with either religious or humanist viewpoints. We specialize in grief, bereavement, and support to the LGBTQ community.
CLIMATE CHAPLAINS
In 2020, our Executive Director was trained by Al Gore's Climate Reality Project to become a Climate Leader as a part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. This has inspired us to create the Climate Chaplains Program. Lay and ordained chaplains will be trained to deliver the "Truth in 10" presentation to their faith communities, and be given the skills to provide spiritual care to front line activists as well as communities most affected by climate change. ABOUT US
The Humanist Chaplaincy, Inc. serves the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs desert communities, providing community chaplains, coaching, pastoral counseling and celebrant services in an open, authentic, inclusive, and ethical framework. We seek to offer environments and tools for spiritual transformation and reflective service. We also seek to engage in activities that educate about the worldview of Humanism as defined in the Humanist Manifesto III and by the Ten Commitments of Humanism.
